Volkswagen quietly launches Polo in Highline trim

Volkswagen has quietly launched a new variant of the Polo. It is now available in Highline trim which slots in between the existing Highline Plus and Comfortline variants. The Polo Highline petrol is priced at Rs. 7.02 lakh and the diesel variant costs Rs. 8.55 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Polo Highline gets most of the features from the Highline Plus trim except for the front centre arm rest, rear air-conditioning vents, auto-dimming IRVM and rain sensing wipers. It comes with a set of 15-inch TOSA alloy wheels, front and rear fog lamps, electric foldable ORVMs and rear parking sensors. 

The interiors are finished in a dual-tone colour scheme with beige upholstery. It also gets anti-pinch windows with one-touch auto down, cruise control and automatic climate control. VW offers a touchscreen infotainment system with voice commands on the Highline trim. It is compatible with MirrorLink, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Safety aids like ABS and driver and passenger airbags are standard across the range.

The Polo Highline is offered with two engine choices – a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine produces 74 BHP @ 5,400 rpm and peak torque of 110 Nm @ 3,750 rpm and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine which makes 88 BHP @ 4,200 rpm and produces a maximum torque of 230 Nm @ 1,500-2,500 rpm. Both engines are paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
